Businesses in CWS could be eligible for substantial funding thanks to a Business Grants programme launched by Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership and West Sussex County Council. It is hoped that small and medium sized businesses looking to expand and create new jobs, but not finding it easy to find the finance, will apply.  Start-ups, existing businesses and social enterprises are being encouraged to express interest in the programme before the deadline of 15th September 2015.

£1,000,000 is available for Business Growth Grants for the 2015/2016 financial year and grants of £15,000 to £100,000 will be awarded to businesses that meet eligibility criteria. The money comes from Central Government’s Local Growth Fund which is a capital grant and the aim of the funding is to support economic development through the creation of new jobs, homes and employment space.

The Coast to Capital Region Business Growth Grants can provide up to 50% of an expansion project as a grant to businesses that can credibly demonstrate how the investment will lead to job creation and meet the eligibility criteria. The proposed new activity must be additional to existing business activity. Applications, outside of retail, are being welcomed from businesses that are in one of the Coast to Capital priority sectors and/or able to demonstrate strong medium term growth plans.

Applications for expressions of interest are now open and will remain open until 12pm on 15th September 2015. To find out more, please visit www.coast2capital.org.uk/helping-business-growth/49-grant-funding/450-coast-to-capital-business-growth-grants.html#sthash.SqbGM8Gl.dpuf
