The objectives of the group are:
- To improve co-ordination of local authority strategic planning to support sustainable growth (using LDF and sub regional planning activities).
- To promote the economic development of the sub-region through joint initiatives, projects and promotion.
- To support town centre regeneration and other development initiatives (including culture, arts & leisure) that will create high quality places where people want to live and work.
- To co-ordinate and identify priorities for infrastructure (to include transport) in the area (and outside if necessary) and to lobby for improvements, which will improve accessibility and support development and investment.
- To support and promote a modal shift towards more sustainable modes of transport/travel and support initiatives to reduce the need to travel including use of broadband and local jobs.
